Minjone Muller, head girl at Laerskool Wonderboom-Suid, was admitted to a hospital in the Free State after she started getting a headache with a very high fever.

A 13-year-old Moot girl admitted into hospital earlier last week for suspected meningitis has been discharged.

Anna said she was now continuing her recovery at home.

“We are very relieved that Minjone is getting better,” she said.

“If she does not continue to get better, we will get her admitted at the Steve Biko Academic hospital.”

She said the test results were still outstanding.

Rekord previously reported that Minjone was taken for a lumbar puncture and blood tests to determine if it was meningitis.

Anna said Minjone was an academic top achiever and shot-putter.

Headmistress of Laerskool Wonderboom-Suid, Rina Pretorius described Minjone as an “incredible head girl”.
