Pretoria residents to face outages

“Residents are urged to store enough water for household use during this time."

Residents in the east of Pretoria can expect water outages in various suburbs tomorrow.

According to the metro, Olympus Boulevard Extension 10 and Boardwalk Extension 11 and 16 will be without water for a couple of hours on Tuesday from 08:00 until 16:00 for control valve maintenance.

“Residents are urged to store enough water for household use during this time,” the metro said.

The most severely affected parts of the city will be Hammanskraal and surrounding areas, which will be without tap water for nearly two days, starting tomorrow at 08:00 until Wednesday 18:00.

“Residents are cautioned not to use tap water for any household purposes during these 32 hours of interruption as technicians will be flushing the distribution network. Instead, it is advisable to store enough water prior to the shut-down. The City will also make available roaming tankers to supply residents with water,” the metro said.

“We apologise profusely to members of the community who will be inconvenienced by this disruption.”
