Local east learners overjoyed as they receive new schoolbags
The principal said the donations came at just the right time as the learners kick off the year.
Nearly 150 learners at the Pula Difate Primary School were overjoyed when a local butcher donated much-needed school supplies.
The donation was made on Tuesday by Roots Butchery in Mamelodi East. The schoolbags contained a ruler, pencil case, pencil, crayons and an eraser.
The school bags were donated to learners in grades 1 to 4.
Store manager Nick Tiexeira said they noticed the learners who regularly come into the store did not have proper schoolbags which prompted them into action.

“We are so happy that we were able to put a smile on their faces,” said Tiexeira.
He said they are looking forward to walking a path with the school and to help where they can.
The principal of the school Batseba Mamabolo said she was excited that someone saw that the learners need a helping hand and the donation came at the right time.
She thanked them for their involvement and sponsorship.
Grade 2 learner Tshepile Legodu (8) said she was very happy with the schoolbag and she will keep it safe and clean at all the times.
