Police are looking for two suspects who robbed a house in Crystal Park, Lyttelton on Thursday.
According to Warrant Officer Hero Gumbu, the suspects, aged between 28 and 30, entered the yard after gaining entry by jumping over the fence and started questioning the domestic worker about the whereabouts of her employers.
Police indicated that an argument broke out between the suspects and the domestic worker and she was slapped and threatened with being shot if she screamed.
Two televisions, two video cameras and some whisky were stolen from the house. The police suspect that the perpetrators might have used a vehicle to load the stolen goods.
Gumbu further said domestic workers should apply safety measures at all times by keeping the gates and doors locked while doing their work.
He said if strangers approached them claiming to be delivery men, they should first contact their employers before allowing them inside their homes. Anyone with information should contact the Lyttelton police on 012-644-8600.
