Kentron substation on fire
Firefighters are still at the scene at the Kentron substation in Echo Park after it burst into flames.
Mayhem erupted when a fire broke out at the Kentron substation in Echo Park on Monday afternoon.
The Tshwane Emergency Services was called to scene and they are still trying to get the fire under control.
Johan Pieterse, spokesperson for the Tshwane Emergency Services, said they are currently unable to identify what caused the fire. No one was injured.
Centurion residents are irate and frustrated since Sunday morning after the Brakfontein substation was vandalised and severely damaged. Power outage caused by the Brakfontein substation is expected to be restored by Tuesday afternoon.
