Claims after blackout

The Tshwane Metro is willing to repay all claims of damages caused by the recent blackouts experienced all over Pretoria.

Many residents are left with losses that amount to thousands of Rands with the recent power outages that were experienced in areas including Centurion, Pretoria East and Pretoria North.

The Tshwane Metro have confirmed that the municipality would be willing to refund residents if they can prove that they have undergone severe losses that were caused due to the black outs.

Centurion was this past week left without electricity for five days after the Brakfontein station were severely vandalises last Sunday.

Also during the week areas in Pretoria East and Pretoria North were also left without any electricity for hours due to maintenance or damages to electric cables.

Many people took to social media where they expressed their frustration about losing thousands of Rands worth of food due to the power outages.

Tshwane Metro spokesperson, Lindela Mashigo, confirmed on Friday that claims in general are handled by the CIty’s Group Legal Services.

He added that residents can fill in a liability form and deliver it to the Group Legal Services.

Along with the form the following need to accompany: Copy of ID, three quotes or repairs incoice relating to damages or utility bill.

The above mentioned can be delivered to the Group Legal Services Department, Room 1304, Saambou Building, Thabo Sihume Street for processing and approval.
