Residents prepare to face dark hours
Eersterust without power for the next day as Tshwane metro endevours to repair power lines.
Residents in the Eersterust area should prepare themselves for a day without power due to four faulty main feeder cables, Tshwane metro spokesman Selby Bokaba said.
He said power supply might be interrupted during the course of Thursday while technicians were working to fix the problem.
The areas affected included Eersterust, part of Baviaanspoort (farm line) and Leeuwfontein up to Roodeplaat Dam.
Bokaba said the faulty cables were expected to be repaired within 24 hours. “Please treat all electrical points as live. Switch off all non-essential appliances to assist with the load on the electrical network.”
Bokaba urged affected customers to report power failures by sending an SMS with the word POWER followed by their account number to 082-612-0333 Or report a power failure to 012-358-9999.
