Cable theft still rife in Pretoria

Power is now restored in Florauna after a power outage on Saturday, however, power in Mountain View will be restored on Saturday night.

Power has been restored in Florauna and the power in Mountain View will be restored later tonight after the areas experienced a power outage due to a cable theft incident in Mountain View and cable fault in Florauna, the Tshwane metro said.

“Power has been restored in Florauna. Customers who are still affected must please SMS the word POWER, followed by account number to 082-612-0333 alternatively use our SMS line 44676,” the metro said. 
In the early hours of Saturday, residents of Mountain View were without power due to cable theft.

“Cables have been stolen and the depot is currently busy with repairs. Estimated time to complete is late tonight,” the metro said. 
Consumers are advised to treat all electrical points as ‘live’. Switch off all non-essential appliances to assist with the load on the electrical network.
