Pedestrian hit by ambulance
A pedestrian was recently hit by an emergency vehicle in Steve Biko Road.
A woman was seriously injured when an emergency vehicle knocked her over in Steve Biko Road on Monday morning.
An emergency vehicle from Lifecare ambulance services was on route to an emergency scene when it swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle and accidentally hit the pedestrian.
This was confirmed by Chris Emeh, spokesperson of Lifecare ambulance services.
“We are very sorry that this accident happened. We treated the woman on scene and then transported her to a nearby hospital,” Emeh said.
Warrent officer Dave Miller, police spokesperson, confirmed the Moot police station was investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving.
