R500 000 worth of drugs confiscated

Police have arrested a 26-year-old man in Eesterust, carrying half a million Rands of drugs.

Police have confiscated R500 000 worth of CAT-drugs in Eersterust when they searched and arrested a 26-year-old man on Friday morning.

Police spokesperson constable Sam Shibambo said the K9 unit were on regular duty when they discovered the crime: “The K9 unit were busy with their routine patrols in Eersterust when they noticed a man carrying a cooler box, walking towards the swimming pool area. They stopped and searched him.”

Shibambo said the unit found drugs worth R500 000: “During the search, they found a drug known as CAT with an estimated street value of half a million Rand, stashed in the cooler bag. The suspect was arrested for possession and dealing in drugs.”

He is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
