Third filling station robbed

Another filling station, this time in Soshanguve, was robbed when three armed men entered the premises and bombed the safe before they fled the scene.

Another filling station was robbed in the metro early this morning – this time in Soshanguve and almost a week after two others were hit by five armed men in Centurion.

Police spokesperson captain Riana van Aarde said the filling station located at the Thorntree Plaza in Soshanguve was robbed at about 02:00 this morning. Three armed men entered the filling station and bombed the safe. They fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

She said there were no injuries and so far no arrests had been made.

A Total and Engen filling station was robbed a week ago when five armed men targeted both on the same night. In those cases the robbers entered the filling stations, forced employees and clients to lie face down on the floor before they bombed the safe.

Van Aarde could not confirm whether the robberies were linked, but did not rule out the possibility.
