Power mostly back in Highveld
Power restored in Highveld after cable theft on Monday. Heritage Hill’s power expected to be back-up by midnight on Tuesday.

Power supply has been restored in the Highveld area except for Heritage Hill.
It is expected that the power will be back up and running smoothly in Heritage Hill by midnight on Tuesday.
The outage occurred after cable thieves attempted to steel underground cables in Nellmapius Road. The attempted theft caused 600 meters of cable to burn out and had a ripple effect on the primary substation in Nellmapius Road. The electricity panels and cables in the substation were also scorched.
“Our technicians managed to switch electricity back on to most areas in and around Highveld except for Heritage Hill. Due to the extent of damage caused, the repairs took longer than expected,” Lindela Mashigo, spokesperson for the Tshwane metro, said on Tuesday.
He urged residents to report power failures by sending the word POWER followed by your account number via SMS to 082-612-0333 or 44676.
