Woman found naked in the street

Foreigners raped and left woman naked and stranded in Nelson Mandela Drive in Sunnyside on Saturday.

Nigerian men beat and raped a 33-year-old woman and left her stranded on the corner of Nelson Mandela Drive and Rissik Street on Saturday, City Improvement District (CID) security said.

CID security supervisor, Mcfalin Mabatha, said the woman was found naked by a company patrol the early hours of the morning.

“The woman told us she saw two Nigerian nationals who assaulted her, but said she heard many voices which suggests there were more than two men,” Mabatha said.

He said the woman looked extremely tired.

She declined to report the matter to the police, something that confused the security personnel.

“All she wanted was to be untied and provided with something to cover her body before she left. Being naked made it difficult for her to move away from the spot where the men left her helplessly,” Mabatha said.

Construction company workers working along Kotze Street provided the woman with a work suit jacket and reflector to cover her body.

The crime was committed a few hours before the Tshwane Leadership Foundation and the Tshwane Metro hosted the Feast of the Clowns, one of the biggest events in Pretoria aimed at fighting against women and children abuse.
