Five arrested with stolen goods

Police arrested five males in possession of suspected stolen property.

Five men have recently been arrested in Pretoria West for being in the possession of stolen property.

Police spokesperson Constable Lerato Ngomane said plasma television sets, computer tablets, cellphones, computers and an undisclosed amount of money had been seized.

The men were caught last Friday on the corner of WF Nkomo and Rossetta streets.

“Police were busy with their day-to-day duties when they stopped and searched the men, and found the items.”

Ngomane said there was money hidden in one of the items.

Police could not yet determine whether the stolen items were from burglaries in the area, but confirmed that they had had burglaries reported.

“The men were profiled and some have been found to have criminal records and some are still pending.”

The men would appear in court soon.
