A shocked community of Soshanguve is still recovering from the death of Thapelo Given Selala, who was stabbed to death at Central Secondary School on Monday.
No one really knows what prompted another boy to stab the grade 11 pupil to death after an argument among a group of pupils outside the gate. Staff at the school have been instructed not to speak to the media.
A police investigation into the matter is continuing.
It has been speculated that bullying could have led to the stabbing. The boy who stabbed Selala is currently in the juvenile jail awaiting trial, and will appear in the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court on 5 September on a charge of murder.
In recent months, the has been a number of reports on bullying around Pretoria including a case of a girl who was abused at a Pretoria West School.
