Police were on Friday searching for two armed men who robbed a house in Wingate Park this week.
Warrant officer Hero Gumbu said the two entered the house in Odell Street on Thursday through the garage and ordered the young woman inside to be quiet.
When she tried to get away, the robbers held her at gunpoint as they ransacked the house. They took a laptop, iPhone, two rings, earrings and Hyundai car with which they fled. The registration number is CD 59 ZB GP.
Gumbu advised home owners to be safety-conscious at all times. Keep gates closed and doors locked, and alert the police without delay when something was amiss.
He urged anyone with information on the robbery to call the Lyttelton police on 012-644-8600.
