Two men were still being sought on Monday after they robbed a Cell C shop in the Hatfield Plaza at the weekend, police said.
Warrant Officer Hero Gumbu, police cluster spokesperson, said two armed men entered the shop around 11:45 on Sunday and ordered the store manager to open the safe.
“The men loaded 51 cellphones worth R25 000 into a box and took R2 500 from the till,” Gumbu said.
“The robbers used cable ties to tie up the manager and cashier before fleeing the scene.”
No one suffered injuries.
On Friday, a group of men robbed an iStore in Centurion Mall.
Initial indications were that eight men were involved in the robbery.
