Power outage in Eersterust

Residents of Eersterust will be left without power on Tuesday as the Tshwane metro council cannot confirm when electricity will be restored in the area.

The Tshwane metro could not confirm when the power will be restored in Eersterust after residents were left without electricity on Tuesday.

Spokesperson Selby Bokaba said the outage was due to faults on three feeder cables between the Waltloo and Eersterust substations. “The restoration time is not yet known as the team of technicians is currently on site identifying faulty points for repair work,” he said in a statement.

Residents are advised to treat all electrical points as live and to switch off all non-essential appliances to assist with the load on the electrical network.

“Affected customers are urged to report power failures by texting the word POWER followed by your account number to 082 612 0333 or 44676 . Or report a power failure to 012 358 9999, choosing the electricity option or 080 1111 556,” Bokaba said.
