Student robbed at gunpoint

One alleged robber fled while the other was apprehended by community members

A Tshwane student was held at gunpoint by two men in Soshanguve block H, police said on Tuesday.

“A female aged between 19 and 25-years-old was walking along the pavement on Monday when she was approached by two men,” said police spokeswoman Constable Hlekani Mathebula.

She said the men pointed a firearm at the woman and demanded her laptop and cellphone.

The University of Technology student screamed and community members came out and chased the men.”

Mathebula said one of the men fled, and other one was apprehended by residents.

The Soshanguve police are investigating.
