A domestic worker was subdued and tied up by four armed men in Erasmusrand before they ransacked the home in search of valuable items on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Arthur Crewe from High-risk Unit, the robbers entered a home in a security complex and took a variety of valuable items, including cash.
Brooklyn CPF Sector 4 contacted the High-risk Unit about the robbery and response vehicles were immediately dispatched.
The Brooklyn police were also alerted.
Crewe said the robbers gained access to the security complex after they blocked the signal of the censor at the main gate with tape as a resident drove out. The gate remained opened and the robbers entered the complex in a Ford Ranger.
They are still being sought.
Police are currently investigating.
