Man kills wife then himself near Gautrain
A man shot and killed himself after he shot dead his wife near the Gautrain in Pretoria central on Monday morning.
A 54-year-old man committed suicide after he shot and killed his 40-year-old wife outside a Mercedes Benz dealership near the Pretoria Gautrain station on Monday, police spokesperson Sergeant Ann Poortman said.
“Around 07:45, a man was awaiting his wife outside Mercedes Benz where she works. As she arrived, he pulled a firearm and shot her three times,” Poortman said.
The woman was hit in the stomach, the head and the chest.
“The man then turned the firearm to himself and shot himself in the head. They were both declared dead on the scene,”said Poortman.
Paramedics declared both man and woman dead on the scene.
Police told the Rekord that the man and woman were on separation owing to a domestic violence.
A family member who didn’t mention her name told Rekord that the deceased had four children who are now orphans.
