Taxi association admits wrong doing by taxi drivers
Ivory Park taxi association starts to make amends.

Last week, taxi drivers attacked and assaulted a man in Tembisa who was driving to his work in Centurion. The reason for the attack? They claimed he was stealing from them because there were three passengers with him who weren’t using the taxi.
After laying charges with the Ivory Park SAPS against the attackers, the man went to the Ivory Park Taxi Association who told him although the taxi drivers had been in the wrong, he should in fact not transport people to work, as it is the taxi drivers’ job.
The man who wishes to remain anonymous, as he fears for his life and the safety of his family, visited the Taxi Association in an attempt to have them fix his badly damaged car.
According to the man the taxi association has admitted the taxi drivers had been in the wrong, and that the association would be willing to pay for the damages, which they in turn would claim from the taxi drivers’ employers and owners of the taxis.
Although the association seems willing to co-operate, the man still fears retaliation from the taxi drivers, but says at least the association was taking a step in the right direction.
