Standard Bank not offline

Standard Bank confirmed that their systems were operational after customers complained of delayed payments on Friday.

Standard Bank customers complained on social media on Friday that their system was offline, but the bank disputed this.

“There are no system issues at Standard Bank. All of our channels are currently fully operational,” said bank spokesperson Ross Linstromhe.

Standard bank customers took to Twitter to complain about delayed payments.

“Standard Bank has gone completely offline. That time you got all your items scanned only to realise you can’t even swipe,” tweeted @Dazie20.

“Declined!!! After I poured 900 bucks of petrol. Hmmm Standard Bank,” tweeted @iamGiftedstill.

Linstrom said a small percentage of customers experienced delayed settlements at points of sale.

“This was immediately resolved and had minimal impact on our services. Standard Bank would like to apologise to those customers that may have experienced such delays,” he said.
