Cyclist injured in Boschkop accident
A cyclist was seriously injured when he collided with a vehicle in Boschkop on Tuesday.

A cyclist was seriously injured in an accident on the Boschkop Road in Boschkop, east of Pretoria, on Tuesday morning.
Netcare911 spokesperson Chris Botha said the cyclist was out on a training ride when he was hit by a vehicle.
“As the vehicle crossed the roadway, the cyclist collided into the side and was flung from the bicycle. Netcare 911 paramedics found the man lying on the roadway with serious injuries. He was stabilised and transported to a local hospital under the constant care of an advanced life support paramedic.”
Earlier in the morning, five people were injured on the N1 in Pretoria when a bakkie overturned.
Botha said paramedics found the crumpled remains of the bakkie obstructing the northbound lane of the N1.
“The passengers were ejected from the vehicle as it rolled, and was found lying on the roadway. One sustained life threatening injuries while four others escaped with minor injuries,” Botha said.
“Paramedics worked fervently to stabilise the injured at the scene and after the critically-wounded was placed on a ventilator and skilfully immobilised on a trauma board, they transported the injured to various hospitals for the care that they required.”
Exact details on the causes of the accidents were being investigated by police.
