Drug dealer caught in the act

The CPF and Sinoville police recently busted an alleged drug dealer.

A drug dealer was caught in the act by the Sinoville police and CPF members as he was about to make an exchange recently.

Community policing forum (CPF) crime prevention officer Piet Retief said the CPF received a tip on Friday about two drug users. Retief said the informant said the two were employed at a local shopping centre at the corner of Vinko and Braam Pretorius streets in Sinoville.

The CPF and Sinoville police rushed to the scene. The CPF searched the two men, but did not find any drugs on them. They were also not under the influence of drugs.

However, one of them told the CPF that a Nigerian man would be arriving soon for a drug trade. The CPF and police waited for the man. When the man arrived, the CPF searched him as well as his car. They found two small packets of the drug CAT in his possession.

The CPF and police went to the alleged dealer’s house in Annlin. Here they found CAT, crystal meth and scales used to measure the drugs.

The man was arrested by the Sinoville police for illegal drug trading. Police spokesperson, Mirna von Benecke, could not be reached for comment.
