No arrest yet for murders in September

Police have not yet made any arrests following the September killings in Mamelodi.

Police have not yet made any arrest regarding the bodies of three women found dumped around Mamelodi East in September.

Police spokesperson Captain Donia Mothutlane said they were still investigating. “We still cannot confirm the allegations of a serial killer on the loose in Mamelodi.”

He added that they could not confirm the DNA results of the woman found burnt inside the dumpster in Extension 6.

The body of Letta Letsoalo (23) was found killed and dumped behind Shell Garage on September 01 and Katlego Ndlovu (23) was found at Phase 1 on September 02. The third body was found in a dumpster on September 10 and police are still waiting for DNA results to identify the body.

Chairperson of Mamelodi 4+1 Taxi association, Strike Mtshweni had the legitimate local taxis operating in Mamelodi marked when rumours surfaced of a suspected serial killer luring victims at night, pretending to be a taxi driver.
