Four armed men robbed the Pick n Pay at Wonderpark shopping centre in Karenpark, north of Pretoria, on Thursday morning.
Wonderpark marketing officer, Elzette Schuster said four armed men dressed as employees took an undisclosed amount of cash.
Schuster said the men fled in a getaway vehicle and the number plates were picked up by security cameras.
Democratic Alliance ward councillor Dana Wanneburg warned people to be extra wary of crime in the run-up to the festive season.
“Crime is increasing seeing that many foreigners are returning to South Africa. It is obvious that criminals would do anything to get what they want.”
Police are investigating.
