A police constable was arrested on Friday in connection with suspected corruption.
Colonel Noxolo Kweza, police spokesperson, said he was also charged with defeating the ends of justice.
The constable allegedly demanded a bribe from a suspect charged with the pointing of a firearm.
“The constable was arrested by the Hawks on Friday morning and will appear in court soon.”
She said the constable is currently detained at the Pretoria Central police station.
Kweza could not confirm the police station that the constable is from or the bribe amount.
