Dedicated police-work pays off: three arrested

Three men were arrested.

Three armed men were arrested on Thursday in Benoni for the alleged robbery at a local motor vehicle dealership in Steve Biko Road earlier in November.

According to Captain Mack Mngomezulu, Benoni cluster police spokesperson, the police K9-unit, with the help of Tracker, managed to pinpoint the black BMW’s activities from Pretoria to Benoni where the three men were arrested at 17:30 on Thursday.

He said they found one firearm and .38 calibre bullets in their possession. Mngomezulu said the three men will appear in court soon.

Captain Bonginkosi Msimango, police spokesperson, said the black BMW had been stolen from DADA motors in Steve Biko Road on 10 November. Three armed robbers entered the dealership and instructed all the employees to lie flat on their faces. The robbers bound the employees’ hands and feet before robbing the dealership.

Police and Tracker had been monitoring the BMW since then until they finally tracked it to Benoni.
