R100 000 for arrest of suspected serial killer
The police have announced a reward of R100 000 for each arrest and conviction of the suspect serial killer in Mamelodi.
A reward of R100 000 has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of an apparent serial killer who brutally murdered three women in Mamelodi East in September this year.
Gauteng police commissioner General Lesetja Mothiba announced the reward in Stanza Bopape Hall at an event marking the 16-day campaign to fight violence against women and children.
The three women were found killed and dumped in different areas in Mamelodi East.
The first body found was that of Katlego Ndlovu (23) in Mamelodi East Phase 1. The second was the late Letta Letsoalo (23) from Mamelodi West, found behind a Shell Garage in Mamelodi East. The third body was badly burnt inside a dumpster in Extension 6, Mamelodi East.
Mothiba said: “The police are offering a reward of R100 000 for each arrest and conviction linked to the three murders.”
The event was also attended by national police commissioner Riah Phiyega, who told residents: “Let us continue to deepen and strengthen our relations and collaboration between government and non-governmental organisations, CPFs, community-based organisations, faith-based organisations, traditional leadership and healers, as well as the business sector, to make South Africa a safe and free country for all its citizens.”
