Four nabbed after Mabopane robbery

Four men arrested for an alleged robbery.

Four men have been arrested after a supermarket in Mabopane near Morula Casino was robbed, police said on Thursday.

Police spokesperson Constable Hlekani Mathebula said the crime was committed on Wednesday.

“Men entered the shop, pretending to be customers. They took out firearms and ordered the staff to lie down. They took cigarettes, cash and airtime.”

Mathebula said the men fled in a white BMW heading towards Soshanguve.

“Police were tipped-off about a white BMW driving at high speed in Soshanguve Block L, police followed up on the information and found the men in a shack in Block L.”

She said one of the men tried to flee but was caught hiding between shacks.

“Police found three firearms on the scene, stolen airtime and cigarettes. The vehicle the men used was suspected as being stolen.”

She said the men would appear in the Soshanguve Magistrate’s Court soon.
