Love triangle victim critical
The man who was shot during a love triangle dispute in Centurion is in a critical but stable condition.
A 50-year-old man was in a critical but stable condition after he was shot and wounded in a love triangle dispute in Rooihuiskraal North, police spokesperson Sergeant Ann Poortman said on Tuesday.
Leon Lourens (47), ex-husband to Helena Lourens, shot her boyfriend Don Nolan (50) in the chest and arm at Wierdaglen Villas on Monday morning.
Lourens then shot himself in the head and died on the scene.
“The boyfriend was taken to Kalafong Hospital and is in a critical condition,” said Poortman.
According to residents, Lourens had parked outside his ex-wife’s house from Sunday evening.
Residents said they were woken by hysterical screams from a woman, followed by gunshots at around 05:00 on Monday morning.
“I heard a woman screaming like crazy and gunshots straight afterwards. My husband and I went to check and we saw two guys lying in a pool of blood,” said a neighbour who asked not to be named.
Poortman said an inquest had been opened and an attempted murder was being investigated.
