A man was arrested for possession of nyaope in Mooiplaas, Erasmia on Thursday morning.
Constable Tumisang Moloto said Erasmia police arrested a 26-year-old man in possession of nyaope in Mooiplaas informal settlement at about 08:30.
“It was alleged the man was selling nyaope in the area of Mooiplaas and police received a tip-off from the community and the description of the suspect.”
Police followed the lead and found the man in his shack with his wife. Moloto said they found him in possession of nyaope with an estimated street value of R3 000 and plastic bags for packaging the drug. He was arrested and charges of possession of drugs were laid. The man will appear in Atteridgeville magistrate’s court soon.
Police were trying to establish whether the man was linked to other crimes.
