Erasmia police have arrested a suspect whom they have been looking for since 20 January 2015. The suspect was arrested on Monday, according to Constable Tumisang Moloto.
Moloto said the 23-year-old man had allegedly robbed a schoolboy of his Blackberry cellphone after threatening him. “After robbing the child, he fled the scene on foot and a case was opened. We received a tip-off and followed the information that eventually led to Pretoria West where the suspect was found and arrested,” said Moloto.
The suspect was detained at Erasmia and he will appear before the Attridgeville magistrate’s court soon on charges of common robbery.
Moloto said the investigation was still ongoing to try and establish whether the suspect was linked to other related robberies in the area.
