Two men were arrested on Wednesday afternoon for allegedly running a drug syndicate in an Akasia security estate, north of Pretoria.
According to Akasia police spokesperson Captain Riana van Aarde, the two foreign men aged between 30 and 33 were arrested, following a sting operation by the crime intelligence unit for alleged drug dealing.
Van Aarde said they raided the house and found a large quantity of drugs. “Further investigation led police to another apartment in the same estate and seized more drugs wrapped in small plastic bags, ready for distribution,” she said.
A suspected stolen laptop was also recovered during the operation. The arrested men will appear in Pretoria magistrate’s court soon, facing possession and dealing with drugs charges. An investigation to locate the supplier continued.
