Police search for woman linked to bank fraud
Gauteng police are appealing for information on a woman who they believe could assist with an investigation into bank fraud.
The Gauteng police have launched a countrywide search for a woman who they believe could help them in an investigation into bank fraud.
This comes after over R1 million was defrauded at various banks in Johannesburg last year.
“It is alleged that the perpetrators went to the bank using falsified documents of the complainant’s deceased husband. They defrauded the bank of over R1 million from the deceased’s account,” he said.
Following various bank transactions, Marumo said the woman being sought could not be traced.
“We hold a belief that the woman in the picture can be helpful with information to investigating the opened fraud case. Anyone who might have seen or know the woman, including knowledge of her whereabouts, can contact Detective Constable Jiyane on 078-111-2935 or Crime Stop line on 08600-10111 or SMS to 32211.”
