Man locked in own car after robbery
A man was robbed and locked in his own car after he was followed by three armed men in Sunderland Ridge on Monday.
A man was robbed and locked in his own car when three armed men held him at gunpoint in Sunderland Ridge on Monday, Centurion Concerned Citizens spokesperson Hannes Du Buisson said.
The man was followed after he withdrew money from the Centurion Lifestyle Centre.
“He was driving a white BMW X5, when three armed robbers in a silver BMW with a sunroof followed him to a business premises. They parked behind him, held him at gunpoint and took his money,” Du Buisson said.
He said the robbers locked the victim in his car and fled with his car keys. The man was freed when he called for help.
Du Buisson said reaction team members and community patrollers searched the area for the robbers but to no avail.
He advised people to be alert after withdrawing money.
“Please make sure you are not being watched or followed afterwards.”
