Mayor to be available on social media again

Tshwane executive mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa will connect with community members on social media following a successful session at the beginning of the month.

Tshwane metro mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa has invited residents of the city to put questions to him on social media on Thursday.

Mayoral spokesperson Blessing Manale said the idea was to create a platform for people to ask questions, who could not do so otherwise.

Manale said the first exercise of this kind by the mayor proved to be major a success. A total of 404 Facebook and 898 Twitter questions were asked, prompting the mayor to extend the duration of the session by an hour.

“The executive mayor has decided that his engagement through #AskRamokgopa will become a regular weekly feature of his work as Tshwane mayor.”

The second session will go live on both Facebook and Twitter on Thursday, 19 February between 14:00 and 16:00 and the hash tag to use is #AskRamokgopa.
