A Mamelodi East teenager accused of killing a 32-year-old man was granted bail of R1 500 by the Mamelodi Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
The 16-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly stabbing a man to death.
The youth will be back in court on 18 April.
A passer-by found the half-naked body of the victim next to a stream with a stab wounds and alerted the police, said Mamelodi East police spokesperson Warrant Officer Michael Mbewe.
“The suspect was arrested the same day.”
An eyewitness said the victim had been in a fight with someone else. Afterwards, he went to the stream to wash away blood from the fight.
“He was followed and stabbed from behind. His attacker ran away,” Mbewe said.
