Search party put together for missing 14-year-old
A 14-year-old girl went missing from the Centurion Mall on Saturday night. Over 50 people have been recruited to search for her.
The last the mother of a missing 14-year-old Centurion girl heard from her daughter was that someone was beating her up before the cellphone died.
Chantal Zangwa disappeared from Centurion Mall on Saturday night before her mother was scheduled to pick her up at 18:00.
“When the mother went to fetch her at 18:00, she was not there. When the mother phoned Chantal, her daughter said she is being beaten up and the phone went dead,” said Lara Ferreira, spokesperson for Lyttelton community policing sector 1.
Ferreira said over 50 patrollers and police from the Lyttelton police, Orange Fox Security and Lyttelton Sector 1, 5 and 7 were searching for the child.
She said they were scouting the Centurion Mall and the lake in search for the girl.
She was last seen wearing short denim shorts and a black top with washed denim jacket.
