Pedestrian killed in Centurion
A 52-year-old man was killed on Sunday night when he was apparently struck by a vehicle while crossing the road.
A pedestrian was killed on the R55 in Olievenhoutbos, Centurion, on Sunday night .
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services found the lifeless body of a 52-year-old man lying in the middle of the road. He was apparently knocked over by a vehicle while trying to cross the road.
“Upon assessment they found that the man had tragically lost his life prior to their arrival and the man was declared dead on the scene,” Santi Steinmann, spokesperson for Netcare 911, said.
She said the driver of the car suffered minor to moderate injuries. After receiving treatment on the scene, he was taken to hospital.
Steinmann said more details on exactly what happened were not immediately available.
