
The police are investigating a case of business robbery after two men pretending to be customers at a takeaway restaurant escaped with an undisclosed amount of money in Northmead, Benoni, in Gauteng.
The armed men robbed a Roman’s Pizza outlet on Sunday night.
According to reports the two men stood in the queue waiting for their order. One of the gunmen suddenly jumped over the counter and demanded money.
Benoni Times reported that the cashier managed to press a panic button which alerted the security. The security officer arrived on the scene while the robbery was still in progress. The police said the security guard’s firearm was forcefully taken from by the robbers before they fled the scene.
The two robbers are still at large.
