Trio caught after burglary attempt
Three men were arrested for malicious damage to property and the possession of burglary tools.
Three men were arrested after an apparent burglary attempt in Magalieskruin on Wednesday, Sinoville police said.
Spokesperson Mirna Von Benecke said the three men were seen leaving a property in Magalieskruin in a haste before they sped off in a white Lavina vehicle.
Residents spotted them and alerted the police and community policing forum (GPF) who gave chase.
“The vehicle was cornered in Braam Pretorius Street and was pulled over by the police. Although no stolen goods were found in their possession they were positively identified as the men leaving the property. Burglary tools were found in the vehicle,” she said.
The men were taken to the Sinoville police station. They are facing charges of malicious damage and the possession of house breaking equipment.
