Two delivery men were shot and wounded during a robbery in Atteridgeville on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said this happened around 13:00 in Mshongoville after the men delivered bread at a shop in the area.
“The men were approached by an armed suspect who fired shots at them through the driver’s door. He then took an undisclosed amount of money and fled by foot,” he said.
Moloto said the driver suffered two gunshot wounds in the buttocks. Another bullet ricocheted and hit the second man in the left leg.
“The pair was treated by paramedics on the scene and were taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.”
Moloto said Atteridgeville police had opened an attempted murder and armed robbery docket.
