Man held after teenage rape
Police have arrested a 32-year-old Hammanskraal man after he allegedly raped and assaulted his teenaged girlfriend.
A 32-year-old man was arrested on Monday after he allegedly raped and assaulted his teenaged girlfriend in Temba, Hammanskraal, police spokesperson Constable Herman Moremi said.
Moremi said the 16-year-old girl visited her boyfriend on Sunday in Mashimong section around 20:00.
“When she arrived at his house, he apparently accused her of cheating on him and began to kick and beat her,” he said.
He said the man was said to have undressed the teenager and raped her. This abuse apparently continued the next morning.
“He allegedly also used a sex toy to rape her.”
Neighbours called the police when they heard a girl screaming.
Moremi said police found the girl with serious injuries and bruises.
“The man was arrested immediately and the girl was taken to hospital for medical treatment.”
The boyfriend is expected to appear at the Moretele Magistrates Court soon on charges of rape and assault.
“We thank the neighbours for reporting such domestic violence and urge everyone to report any criminal activities to the police,” said Moremi.
