Man stoned to death
Police found the body of a man stoned to death in Phumulong, Atteridgeville, on Sunday afternoon.
A man was stoned to death in Atteridgeville West at the weekend, police said on Tuesday.
Spokesperson Captain Thomas Mufumadi said the police received a call on Sunday about a body lying in the street in Phumulong.
“Upon arrival, police found a large crowd gathering around a body of a lifeless man covered with rocks. The victim was declared dead on the scene and paramedics took his body away.”
Mufumadi said no arrests had been made and the police were investigating.
“We urge the people in the community to comply and work with us to get these perpetrators. We are depending on them to work with us to stop these sort of crimes,” Mufumadi said.
A murder docket was opened at the Atteridgeville police station.
