M-Net’s Carte Blanche investigative journalist, Devi Sankaree Govender, was mugged while working on a story on Wednesday morning in Bloemfontein.
Sankaree Govender took to social media to report the episode where her chain was ripped from her neck.
According to reports, the Carte Blanche team was filming outside Bophelo House when Govender walked a few metres from the team and felt a man’s hand around her neck.
She apparently turned around and screamed, but quietened down when the mugger tightened his grip around her neck.
Sankaree Govender said she was happy nothing serious happened to her.
Last week, SABC’s contributing editor, Vuyo Mvoko and his colleagues were mugged at gunpoint in Johannesburg while crossing live outside the Milpark Hospital.
The men stole valuables, including cellphones and laptops, before fleeing.
The footage captured by cameras that were rolling went viral.
