Moot police are looking for a Bangladeshi man who allegedly stole a large amount of money from his work premises in Wonderboom South.
According to Warrant Officer Anton Breedt, acting spokesperson for Moot police, the 25-year-old man disappeared, along with the money, on 3 March. Breedt said the man became ‘a person of interests’ when his employer asked him to make coffee in the room where the money was kept.
Breedt said the money had been locked in a safe at the time of the alleged theft. “The employer became suspicious when the employee did not return after a long while. When the employer investigated he discovered the employee and the cash was missing.”
Breedt said the employee had no other charges against his name and had been living in Pretoria for the past five months.
Breedt requested residents who had any information about the man’s whereabouts to contact the investigation officer, Constable Mokibelo Supe, on 073-793-7136 immediately.
