Meet the Pretoria girls who will represent SA in New Zealand
Pretoria netball girls looking to do well as they represent the Proteas in the Netball World Cup.

Izette Lubbe
Izette Lubbe (23) is a Pretoria netball player who plays for the SPAR Proteas netball team. She is currently studying BSc medical science at the University of Pretoria, doing her third year.
Lubbe matriculated at the Afrikaanse Hoër Meisieskool in 2010 and moved to the University of Pretoria the next year where she plays netball.
She is one of the 12 players who are representing South Africa in the Netball World Cup that is currently taking place in New Zealand.
“My biggest achievement so far as a player is winning the University Sports South Africa (USSA) Cup. We have won it back-to-back, and since I started playing for Tuks, we have won it three times. In this upcoming World Cup, I just want to enjoy every moment with my teammates and hopefully do well. It is going to be a good experience for me and I am willing to learn as much as I can,” she said.
She likes eating sushi and pizza, her favourite TV shows are Suits and Greys Anatomy.
Lindi Lombard
Lindi Lombard also plays for the SPAR Proteas and she has been part of the team since 2011. She is a second year student in sports science at the University of Pretoria.
Lindi was born in 1989 on September 13 and her love for netball started at an early age. She has been playing for the SPAR Proteas for four years and will be playing in her first World Cup in New Zealand.
“I have played netball since primary school and for me to be in the national team is a big dream. I have worked hard in order to be in the team and am privileged to be part of this group. I am excited as this is my first ever World Cup and we also have a new coach,” she said.
