Police arrest 18 in anti-crime campaign
Most were held over the possession of drugs, five in connection with drunken driving while two of the arrested were driving recklessly.

Eighteen people were arrested in an anti-crime swoop by the Pretoria police and their metro counterparts at the weekend.
Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said areas of central Pretoria formed the focus of the operation.
“We as the SA Police Service and the Tshwane metro police came together to search vehicles for drugs and illegal substances. A total of 18 people were arrested in a span of three days.”
Most were held over the possession of drugs, five in connection with drunken driving while two of the arrested were driving recklessly. All 18 people would appear in the Tshwane metro Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Random stop and searches were conducted, road blocks were set up and special patrols were carried out along several major streets, said Selepe.
